Not the Standard Hammer for Hire

Most handymen are hard to tell from a full contractor.  I have a one-hour minimum charge policy, and am happy to come over to move a single box downstairs if that's all you need to have done. Check the next page for lists of things I do and those I tend to stay away from.

A Bit about Me

When I was younger I spent the better part of twenty years as a successful residential contractor.  Besides my time in construction, I was in the brokerage business for many years.  I also spent a few years commuting to Elim Bible Institute in Lima way back in the seventies.  Recently I became a NYS licensed home inspector. 

My wife and I live in Brighton not far from Clinton Crossings.  Our five children and their families all live here in the region.  We enjoy getting together in our modest cottage on an even more modest lake east of town.  I work alone in my business, and I avoid larger projects that extend into days or even weeks.

Stephen DrewHere's a strategy for lessening your chance of serious injury:  Stay off ladders 100%.  Never carry anything up or downstairs with both hands.  Always have your free hand on a handrail.

There's a list of jobs that you can hire me to do for you on the next page.  If you skim that list you'll see that most are small jobs that don't take much time.  Yet almost every one of them can result in an injury to you in some way or another if you try to do them yourself.

The key to remaining independent includes hiring someone to do the riskiest household chores for you.  I have a one hour minimum charge policy.  My hourly rate is $38. Why not schedule an hour for your most pressing job, then make a list of other priorities to fill out that hour? If you hire me for an hour, it won't go over that - guaranteed.
